Privacy Policy
Privacy Policy
The short version. We collect only what we need to run your account: a username, an email address and a securely hashed password, plus your subscription status from Stripe. We don't sell your information for money. To measure our own ads, our public pages use the Meta Pixel, and when you sign up, confirm your email or subscribe we tell Meta that it happened, with your email address hashed. You can turn that off on Your privacy choices, and we honor Global Privacy Control automatically. We don't use your personal information to train AI. We email you news only if you opt in. You can ask us to delete your account at any time.
1. Who we are
This Privacy Policy explains how Linevex LLC ("Linevex," "we," "us") handles personal information when you use linevex.app (the "Service"). It is part of our Terms of Service.
2. What we collect
- Account details: your username, your email address, and your password. We store only a one-way bcrypt hash of your password, never the password itself.
- Account status: your role or plan, when your account was created, when you confirmed your email address, and when you agreed to our Terms of Service and this policy (and which version).
- Email preferences: whether you've agreed to receive news and offers from us, and when you agreed or opted out.
- Sign-in and security records: a session record for each device you're signed in on, and records of password-reset and email-confirmation requests. We store only hashed versions of these tokens.
- Technical information: like most websites, our servers record basic request information such as IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the time. We use it to keep the Service running, prevent abuse (for example, rate limits, limiting repeated failed logins and checking for bots on the account forms) and fix problems.
- Usage records: how often your account loads the boards and our data. We use them to enforce usage limits and our Terms, for example to spot scraping or account sharing.
- Payments: Stripe handles subscription payments on its own secure pages. We receive your subscription status, price, renewal dates, insured-week results and billing records, but never your full card number.
- Advertising measurement: on our public pages (home, pricing and sign-up, not the pick boards) the Meta Pixel records page visits and the browser identifiers Meta sets (
_fbp,_fbc). When you sign up, confirm your email or start a subscription, our server tells Meta which of those happened, with a one-way (SHA-256) hash of your email address and account id, your IP address and browser type, and for subscriptions the amount. See section 7. - Messages you send us, if you contact support.
We don't collect your betting history, sportsbook accounts or financial account details.
3. How we use it
- To create and run your account and give you access to the features of your plan.
- To process your subscription, settle insured weeks and send billing and renewal notices.
- To keep the Service and your account secure and to prevent fraud and abuse.
- To understand and improve the Service.
- To meet legal obligations.
4. Emails we send
- Service emails. We send emails you need to use your account: confirming your email address, password resets and security alerts, subscription confirmations, reminders before you're charged, notices about insured weeks, and important changes to our Terms or this policy. These aren't marketing, so you'll get them while you have an account.
- News and offers, only with your permission. We send product news, new models and offers only if you opt in, either with the unticked box when you sign up or on your Account page. We record when you opted in. You can opt out at any time on your Account page or with the unsubscribe link in any of those emails, and we'll stop within 10 business days.
We send email through Resend. We don't use tracking pixels to see whether you open our emails.
5. Our models, AI and automated processing
- What our models use. Our picks come from statistical and machine-learning models that use sports data, such as game schedules, player and team statistics, and sportsbook prices. They don't use your personal information, and every user sees the same picks.
- We don't train AI on your personal information. We don't use your account details, usage records or messages to train our models or any third-party AI model, and we don't sell or give them to anyone to do so.
- AI tools in our work. We use AI assistants to help write software and content for the Service. We don't put your personal information into third-party AI tools, except where we need to in order to answer a support request you send us, and then only with providers bound to protect it.
- Automated decisions. We use automated checks to protect the Service, such as rate limits, bot checks on account forms and usage limits that detect scraping or account sharing. These can temporarily slow down or block requests. We don't use automated processing to make decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you, and before we suspend or close an account, a person reviews it. If you think an automated check got it wrong, email support@linevex.app.
- Advertising. We don't build advertising profiles ourselves. We do share the limited information in section 7 with Meta to measure and improve our ads on Facebook and Instagram, which some state laws treat as "sharing" for targeted advertising. You can opt out at any time (section 9).
6. Cookies
Most of our cookies and similar storage are ones the site needs to work or that remember a choice you made, such as keeping you signed in. Our public pages also load the Meta Pixel, which sets advertising cookies, unless your browser sends Global Privacy Control or you've opted out on Your privacy choices. The pick boards and your Account page never load it. Our Cookie Policy lists every cookie.
7. Who we share it with
We don't sell your personal information for money. We share it only with:
- Service providers who run parts of the Service for us and may use the information only to do so: hosting (Railway), database hosting (Neon), email delivery (Resend), bot protection on our sign-up and login forms (Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks your browser and connection to tell people from automated programs) and payment processing (Stripe).
- Meta Platforms (Facebook and Instagram), for advertising measurement: the page-visit and conversion information described in section 2. Meta uses it to report how our ads perform and to show them to people more likely to be interested, under Meta's privacy policy. Under laws such as California's and Virginia's, this can count as "sharing" for cross-context behavioral or targeted advertising. You can opt out (section 9).
- Legal and safety reasons: when the law requires it, or to protect the rights, property or safety of Linevex, our users or others.
- A business transfer: if Linevex is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of it, and this policy will continue to apply to it.
8. How long we keep it
We keep your account information while your account is open. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where we need to keep some of it to meet legal obligations (for example, billing records for tax purposes), resolve disputes or prevent abuse. We keep a record of your email consent choices for as long as we need it to show we had your permission. Expired sign-in and reset records are deleted over time. Server logs are kept only for a limited period.
9. Your choices and rights
On your Account page you can change your username and password, turn news emails on or off, manage or cancel your subscription, and delete your account. You can also ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you, and give you a copy;
- correct information that is wrong;
- delete your account and personal information.
Email privacy@linevex.app from the address on your account. We'll respond within 30 days. Depending on where you live, state laws (such as those in Virginia and California) may give you further rights, including the right to appeal if we decline a request (reply to our decision to appeal). We honor these requests for all users, wherever they live, and we won't treat you differently for making one. You can opt out of sharing your information with Meta for advertising on Your privacy choices. If you're signed in, the choice is saved to your account; it also applies to that browser. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as that opt-out automatically.
10. Security
We protect your information with measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords and tokens, limits on repeated login attempts, and access controls on our systems. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security. If we learn of a breach that affects your personal information, we'll notify you as the law requires.
11. Age
The Service is only for adults 21 and over. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 21. If we learn that we have, we'll delete it.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. If a change is significant, we'll tell you by email or on the site before it takes effect.
13. Contact
